Joe Arias

Joe Arias started teaching tennis professionally at the age of 38.

"Tennis changed my life," Joe says. When asked what he enjoys most about the teaching profession, he replies, "Everything!"

A USPTA P-1, Joe  is Director of Tennis and Head Professional at Port Jefferson Country Club in Port Jefferson, N.Y. His responsibilities included management of the facility, pro shop, event coordination and implementation of all lesson functions.  
Joe is also President of Arias Tennis Corp. since 1996.

Joe's current certfiications include:
USTA Schools Program Clinician 1998 to present.
USTA/Eastern Section Collegiate Tennis Committee Chairman 2005 to present.
Intercollegiate Tennis Association Advocate 2005 to present.
USTA National Recreational Coach Trainer starting 2006.
USTA/Eastern Section Junior Team Tennis Suffolk County Area League Coordinator starting May 2006 to present.
USTA/Eastern Section Suffolk County Schools Coordinator starting June 2006 to present.
USTA Eastern Section USTA/Eastern Section Junior Team Tennis Committee Member starting June 2006.
USTA Eastern Suffolk County District Board President 2008 to present.
USTA High Performance Coach 2009 to present.

He also serves as a staff professional at Sportime – Kings Park in Kings Park, N.Y.

Among his numerous accomplishments, Joe is proud to have founded the Suffolk County Junior Tennis League. His future goals include establishing a countywide tennis infrastructure for all ages and levels of play. Suffolk County Junior Tennis League Awards:

Joe previously was employed at McKenna Tennis, Point Set Racquet Club, World Gym and Racquet & Sports Arena.
He also was self-employed for 24 years in wholesale food distribution. He currently is a NY State Licensed Real Estate Assitant Appraisor and as an On Track M'Power distributor providing independent financial services.
Joe earned a bachelor's degree in Athletic Administration from St. John's University.

Joe has played junior competition and varsity tennis as well as men's open tournaments, and formerly was ranked.
